I am dedicated to working with people who want to get at the root of their life suffering and emotional distress. The quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is the critical factor in any successful therapy. Progressive psychotherapy work depends upon the growth and development of a collaborative relationship, which supports your becoming aware of the formative aspects of your life not only intellectually, but emotionally also. This awareness is the essential ingredient to any meaningful and lasting change in human beings.

We make significant progress in therapy when given the opportunity to talk openly in an atmosphere of inquisitiveness, freedom, caring, and acceptance. When we speak honestly, addressing our life histories and looking with courage at our life dilemmas – we improve our chances of living a satisfying and fulfilling life.

I have practiced individual and couples psychotherapy for over 25 years. I have significant experience working in private practice with adults, adolescents and children. I am licensed as a supervisor and provide supervision and case consultation for counselors and psychotherapists in private practice or agency settings.

I hold a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Colorado/Boulder and a Master’s in Psychology from Naropa University. I continued psychoanalytic training at the Colorado Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies, the Philadelphia School for Psychoanalysis and the New York Center for Group Studies.

Choosing the right psychotherapist/supervisor is crucial to attain your goals. Please don’t hesitate to call and schedule a consult to learn more about how this process works and experience whether we are a good fit.

My practice is currently in Boulder, Colorado and Asheville, North Carolina.  Additionally, I offer psychotherapy via videoconference for individuals and couples who live at a distance and are comfortable with the alternative.
